Miami, United States. — Cuban activists from various opposition organizations maintain the National strike in the midst of the economic and migratory crisis that exists in the Caribbean country.
People from most of the country’s provinces, including former political prisoners and relatives of current political prisoners, continue with the initiative, which calls on Cubans not to collaborate with the dictatorship of Raúl Castro and Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC), a coalition of exile organizations that supports the National Strike, indicates that opposition groups from Pinar del Rio, Havana, Matanzas, Mayabeque, Artemisa, Villa Clara, Cienfuegos, Ciego de Ávila, Camagüey, Granma, Holguín and Guantánamo remain active in different activities.
Among the organizations promoting the National Strike in Cuba are the Movement for the Freedom of Cuba Colonel Vicente Méndez, the Latin American Federation of Rural Women (FLAMUR), the Juan Pablo II Opposition Movement, the Reflection and Reconciliation Citizen Movement and the Civic League of Independent Farmers.
The Movimiento Opositores por una Nueva República (MONR), the Pedro Luis Boitel National Civic Resistance Movement, the Impacto Juvenil group, the Jose Martí Cuban Libertarian Party, among many others, have also joined the strike.
The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance assured that it will continue to support the democratizing efforts of the Cubans inside the Island, while encouraging the people not to lose faith in those compatriots, who throughout the length and breadth of the Cuban geography, support the National strike.
According to the collation, the work carried out by these platforms are indicative factors that the resistance inside the Island remains alive and immersed in its objective.
