In a joint operation of federal authorities and the state of Guanajuato, 13 alleged members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel (CJNG) were arrested and weapons, cartridges, vehicles and tactical equipment were seized in three searches of different buildings.
The Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), the National Guard and the Attorney General of the state of Guanajuato reported that, derived from intelligence work by these institutions, they carried out an operation in the municipality of Silao in order to complete three search warrants. . “Mexican Army personnel provided peripheral security in the buildings, which allowed agents from the Attorney General’s Office of the state of Guanajuato and the National Guard to arrest 13 people, in addition to three kilograms and 321 doses of methamphetamine; 450 grams of marijuana; two long weapons, five short weapons, seven magazines, 81 cartridges, four vehicles and tactical equipment.
The detainees and the insured were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
