How will Bolivian soccer be played in 2023?

This Friday there was a tense day in Cochabamba. The FBF and the 17 clubs reached an agreement and it was decided how to play the tournaments in 2023. It will be a tournament by series (cup style, by series and with heads-up keys) that will be played during the week, and another long one (league style) all against all throughout the year.

We will have two championships. The league will have everyone against everyone, and will start on Sunday, February 5; and the cup that will be by series and will be played during the week. It was also decided that An account will be taken of the average of both tournaments for relegations, and a general table for international awards (All league matches and the Group Phase of the cup will be taken into account)

The first date of the long tournament will be February 5, 2023:

– Real Santa Cruz – Palmaflor
– Guabira – Bolivar
-royal Pari – Independent
– The Strongest – University of Vinto
– Oriente Petrolero – Nacional Potosí
-Blooming-Wilstermann
– Aurora – Always Ready
– Libertad Gran Mamoré – Vaca Díez
Rest: Real Tomayapo

The series championship was divided into three groups, in the group of six the first three will qualify, and in the group of five only two:

– Group A (Three classify):
Bolívar, Oriente Petrolero, Royal Pari, Wilstermann, Real Tomayapo and Libertad Gran Mamoré.
– Group B (Two classify):
The Strongest, Guabirá, Palmaflor, Aurora and Real Santa Cruz
– Group C (Three classify):
Always Ready, Nacional Potosí, Blooming, Independiente, FC Universitario and Vaca Diez.

How will Bolivian soccer be played in 2023?

As for the international awards, it was determined that the Copa Libertadores would qualify:

– Bolivia 1: Professional Division Champion (all against all)
– Bolivia 2: Second best located in the accumulated table
– Bolivia 3: Third best located in the accumulated table
– Bolivia 4: Champion of the Professional Division Cup (series tournament)

To Copa Sudamericana they will qualify:

– Bolivia 1: Runner-up of the Professional Division championship (everyone against each other)
– Bolivia 2: Fourth best placed in the accumulated table
– Bolivia 3: Fifth best located in the accumulated table
– Bolivia 4: Sixth best placed in the accumulated table

The descents will have a table of averages that will include the matches of the League, and the group stage of the Cup.
