One of the defendants in the shooting death turned himself in and for wounds of a knife, of the retired general of the Dominican Air Force, Rafael Teófilo Pérez Peralta (Shulindo), occurred during an alleged quarrel for control of a family inheritance, an event that occurred in the community of La Patilla, in Dajabón.
This is Vidal Morel Toribio, 74, against whom the Investigating Judge of the judicial district of the aforementioned border town had issued arrest warrant number 613-2023-SAUT-00014, dated yesterday, Thursday, in violation of Articles 2 and 302 of the Dominican Penal Code, to the detriment of Pérez Peralta and Julián Fortuna Morel.
The man is singled out as one of the people who provoked the wounds with a machete to the officer.
Morel Toribio was handed over to members of the Criminal Investigation Division of the National Police, in Dajabón, by his lawyer Orlando García.
The assailant handed over a ten-inch-long machete, with which he presumably injured Rafael Teófilo Pérez Peralta.
While police officers are looking for Eric José Morel Ogando and Elvis Morel Ogando (Edy), identified as the people who shot at the retired general.
The event occurred this Thursday morning, in the La Patilla community, in Dajabón, when the retired general allegedly tried to prevent workers from removing construction materials on land that was disputed with several relatives.
Pérez Peralta is the second person to die from that family due to the litigation for control of the property.
