The request for legislative powers in economic and tax matters that the Executive has sent to Parliament will be a priority issue for the Economic Commission of Congress and would have its support.
Last Tuesday, Prime Minister Alberto Otárola went to the plenary session of Congress to ask for a vote of confidence and in that context he requested the powers to legislate for 90 days. The request also includes the issues of modernization of State management, suitability and meritocracy in public administration.
The president of said working group, Rosángella Barbarán (FP), was consulted by this newspaper about when the Executive’s request would be discussed, if it would be a priority and if the Minister of Economy, Alex Contreras, would be summoned to present the request.
“Our coordination with the MEF (Ministry of Economy and Finance) is constant and there is a willingness to support,” the legislator assured Peru21.
Although he affirmed that “it is an extensive text that must be evaluated,” Barbarán also clarified: “All the bills that the country requires are our priority.”
REQUEST FOR FACULTIES
The request, which was sent to Parliament on Tuesday, January 10 by means of a bill, includes four axes that focus on the aforementioned areas.
Some aspects included in the Executive’s request include the simplification of the tax framework, through the elimination of two regimes.
These would be the Mype Regime (micro and small business) and the Special Income Tax Regime (RER).
The argument, in these cases, would respond to the fact that both would have ended up helping these companies to avoid moving to the general regime instead of formalizing them, which was one of the objectives.
Other aspects considered also include regulatory changes to expedite public investment, among others.

-On the possibility of eliminating the decree that made changes to labor outsourcing, and that it is suspended, Barbarán pointed out that this is in plenary, but he said that the underlying problem “cannot be solved by eliminating” the norm.
