Havana Cuba. — The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance has released a statement in which it supports the Cuban-American journalist Ninoska Pérez Castellón, one of the best-known voices of the Antillean exile.
After 26 years defending the rights of the Cuban people and denouncing the abuses of the communist dictatorship, the communicator has resigned from her radio program Ninoska in Mambí after the sale of the station Radio Mambi to the Latino Media Network company, financed by liberal billionaire George Soros.
The departure of Pérez Castellón has caused sadness among his faithful listeners, but it has also aroused expressions of recognition from Florida politicians, who described his decision as “brave”, according to a review The New Herald in its edition this Wednesday.
With the acquisition of the station by the Latino Media Network, it is feared that the most conservative voices in Cuban exile will be silenced, although the conglomerate has already assured that it remains committed to preserving Radio Mambi as a pillar of the Cuban-American community.
Dr. Orlando Gutiérrez Boronat, coordinator of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance, highlighted in the statement the human and professional qualities of Ninoska Pérez, making wishes that her voice be heard again in the media, defending the rights of the Cuban people.
Likewise, Sylvia Iriondo, president of MAR Por Cuba, predicted the prompt return of the journalist to continue accompanying the Cuban people and exiles in their fight for freedom.
The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance concluded its notice by stating that it will resist any attempt to censor or silence the voices of the Cuban-American community in support of the freedom of the island.
