Seeking to solve the waste collection problem in the capital district, the directors of the Municipal Council met with the designated General Administrator of the Sanitation Authority, Alonso Filós.
This meeting served to coordinate the already participation of local authorities in the inter-institutional Program “Cleaning up the Neighborhood”, coordinated by the Government of the Province of Panama.
The president of the Municipal Council, Yoira Perea, that the purpose is to coordinate the representatives of the corregimiento according to the different collection zones that the AAUD maintains.
In the meeting between Perea and the appointed General Administrator, Alonso Filós, they discussed issues such as collection, the fleet of trucks, the situation of homeless people roaming the streets, a situation that complicates the operation of collection, relocation and disposal of tanks, as well as the issue of fines.
Soon they will meet with the representatives according to the zones into which the AAUD divides the Capital District.
