Licey and Estrellas strengthen for the final series of Dominican baseball

Santo Domingo (EFE).- The Cubans Henry Urrutia, Carlos Hernández and Dairon Blanco, as well as the Mexican Alemao Hernández will reinforce the Eastern Stars already the Tigers of the Licey in the final series of the Dominican winter baseball championship, which will begin this Friday in Santo Domingo.

Hernández, who began the season with the Toros del Este, pitched in the semifinal for the Águilas Cibaeñas, for whom he went 1-2 with a 1.13 ERA in three appearances.

With the arrival of Hernández, the Stars add an arm to their starting staff for their challenge with the Tigers.

The cats bet on reinforcing their pitching with the incorporation of pitcher Alemao Hernández, who can work as a starter or reliever.

Hernández had a start in the semifinal with the Eagles, in which he worked seven scoreless innings and struck out four.

For his part, Blanco played only two games in the semifinal with the Giants, in which he had three hits in six plate appearances.

Despite the performance he achieved with the bat, with the arrival of Blanco the Tigers strengthened their defense in the outfield and added a player who provides speed in running the bases.

The final between the two teams, which is scheduled for the best of seven games, begins this Friday at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium in Santo Domingo.

The winner of the championship will represent the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Series that will be held in Venezuela from February 2 to 10. EFE
