A 37-year-old woman was provisionally detained at the request of the Family Section of the Colón and Guna Yala Regional Prosecutor’s Office for committing domestic violence against her own mother.
According to the victim’s complaint, her daughter mistreated her since 2022 and on January 8, 2023, in the Sabanitas corregimiento, the accused insulted her again, physically and financially assaulted her; coupled with this she harassed her.
After the complaint filed by the victim, the citizen was apprehended, as the crimes required their modalities of physical violence, psychological violence, patrimonial violence and harassment, to the detriment of the 59-year-old woman.
During the course of the hearing, the Public Ministry was represented by the prosecutor Yemil Rodríguez, who requested the legalization of the arrest and the formulation of charges against the citizen, petitions that were admitted by the guarantee judge, Bernalda Martínez, since she represents a danger to the victim, the community and the possible destruction of evidence.
