The ninth day of the trial of the eight accused of beating Fernando Báez Sosa to death in the seaside resort of Villa Gesell will focus this Thursday on the statement of four members of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA), who will refer to the image analysis and facial identification tests carried out on the videos incorporated into the crime investigation.

Judicial sources indicated that, although initially 14 testimonies were scheduled in this new hearing before the Oral Criminal Court (TOC) 1 of Dolores, most of them will not be finally required by prosecutors Juan Manuel Dávila and Gustavo García, nor by the complaint, headed by lawyers Fernando Burlando and Fabián Améndola.

After the eight days in which the victim’s parents, a dozen friends, police officers, custodians of the “Le Brique” dance venue, doctors and rower Pablo Ventura, among others, gave statements, The only confirmed witnesses are Yanina Cuenca, Agostina Matticoli, Ricardo Gabriel Pisoli and Andrés Bruzzese, members of the PFA specialized in forensic facial analysis, who will testify jointly starting at 9.

The troops will focus on the detailed and frame-by-frame analysis of the video images incorporated into the case, which were used to try to identify the defendants from the facial comparison work.

Due to the volume of material analyzed, a colloquium statement is expected that could last several hours.

It is expected that Fernando’s parents will witness the statements in the courtroom on the first floor of the courts, as occurred during the previous days.

The eight defendants – Máximo Thomsen (23), Enzo Comelli (22), Matías Benicelli (23), Blas Cinalli (21), Ayrton Viollaz (23), and Luciano (21), Ciro (22) and Lucas Pertossi (23) – will also be present, as they have been since the opening of the oral debate.
