A fire in the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve, in the City of Buenos Aires, which affected a grassland area of approximately 10 by 300 meters, managed to be controlled by firefighters, who had to evacuate the people who were on the property, reported the Buenos Aires government.
Calls to 911 alerted after 5:00 p.m. due to the existence of a dense smoke coming out of a sector of the Reserve, for which several firefighters and personnel from the 1 E Neighborhood Police Station of the City Police went to the place.
Crews from the detachments of La Boca, Barracas, Puerto Madero and San Telmo and five from the Argentine Federal Police (PFA), managed to control the flames.
The Reserve “was evicted to facilitate the work of the troops and fire in the shape of a horseshoe with a front of 500 or 600 meters was visualized from height,” said the Buenos Aires government.
In addition, personnel from the Federal Rescue Brigade (BEFER) and the PFA Forest Risks Brigade participated.
A drone unit and an attack planning unit were also used.
