MIAMI, United States. — The National Party of Honduras denounced the alleged ideological interference by Cuban teachers who have been sent to reinforce the educational system of that country, reported the newspaper The Tribune.
The conservative political organization warned that the Honduran population “must be” careful with the content disclosed by educators, who came to the Central American nation at the request of the ruling Libertad y Refundación (Libre) party.
“In an opaque, non-transparent manner and with dubious pedagogical objectives, the Libre socialist government brought 120 Cuban teachers to Honduras,” said the statement of the National Party.
The Honduran government brought 120 Cuban teachers to attend educational programs in that country.
The National Party assured that Honduras has “sufficient pedagogues and teachers with enormous experience and various professionals trained in Honduran universities and abroad capable of promoting a national literacy program.”
That political force also addressed the statements of the Secretary of Education, Daniel Sponda, who pointed out that Cuban teachers only come to advise their Honduran counterparts.
“If that were the case, why should the 298 municipalities of the country be displaced?” the conservatives questioned.
The National Party also exposed that there are hidden intentions and accused that Cuba uses doctors and teachers to propagate its ideology. In this sense, they demanded the publication of the contract signed with Havana to bring the Cuban teachers to Honduras.
On December 20, a brigade of Cuban teachers arrived in Honduras as part of a collaboration agreement between the educational institutions of the Central American nation and the Caribbean island.
official media Cubans point out that the delegation was made up of 123 educators whose mission is to “fight the level of illiteracy in Honduras through the Cuban method ‘Yo si puedo'”, previously applied in countries like Venezuela.
