Cusco: Protesters block runways and try to reach the Velasco Astete airport (VIDEO)

Thousands of citizens from various districts of Cusco blocked various roads and are trying to reach the Alejandro Velasco Astete airport in order to interrupt air activities. However, the police authorities -so far- have not allowed their entry.

“We come with our own money, we do not come armed, just as they see us we are without a stick. We ask for the resignation of Dina Boluarte and for Congress to leave,” said one of the protesters in dialogue with Correo.

During the march, a representative of the Public Ministry approached to request information from the police authorities regarding the protests that have been taking place in order to reach the Cusco airport. In statements to this medium, he indicated that the police have not attacked anyone and that “at the moment there are no detainees.”

“We have voted for Pedro Castillo, because Dina Boluarte gets into the government, that’s why we have to demonstrate,” said one of the protesters.
