The incorporation of women into the business world is progressing slowly. A photo of the directories of institutions and companies reflects the gap that still exists. A similar graph, but in a university environment, would give a totally different result. In Bolivian universities, the presence of women in administration and management positions is relevant.

“Women’s access to education has been growing in recent years,” explains Anne Arrazola in the Education and Society section of El DEBER. the entrepreneur defends the contribution of women to society. Still barriers need to be overcome that make full integration difficult, but there is an advanced path that encourages hope.

“Women bring a different perspective able to find different solutions. We have another look, which is not better, but rather contributes with another perspective and contributes with country solutions that may be different and go another way that can be beneficial ”, he affirms.

Breaking down that approach would warrant a much longer conversation. “To reach equalityd full in Bolivia takes 74 years”, emphasizes Arrazola. A lot of time to overcome limitations that, today, are visible.

The Bolivian entrepreneur’s proposal aims to “take advantage of the human talent of women” and add it to masculine abilities. The path, he explains, goes through education. “It is essential to reach and achieve those spaces, to achieve those roles” and, in parallel, “change the construction of those decisions.”

Arrazola refers to social structures still maintain obstacles to full access. “There is a social construction that is adverse to female participation” despite the existence of norms and laws that provide for equitable access.

Politics is one of the fields where ‘positive discrimination’ has facilitated equality between men and women. In recent years, he says, “a transformation has been seen.”

However, he looks at the pending challenges and knows where to aim. “We lack full participation in professional lifein the active life of society”, he points out. Lackhe continues, “the jump to spaces of decision and participation” where the male majority still persists.

For now, he invites all the young people to stay on the path of study as “a complement to the desire to excel.” Above all, she insists, it is about “choosing what you are passionate about” and striving to improve every day.
