The money stolen by the self-styled Venezuelan parliament abroad doubles the budget allocated for mayors and governors this 2023, denounced the deputy to the National Assembly for the Acción Democrática party Luis Eduardo Martínez.
Martínez revealed that “they have 1,970 million dollars under their power and control. That fictitious National Assembly attends instructions from false directors. That money is equivalent to double the budget of mayors and governors in 2023.
Likewise, the opposition deputy described the supposed interim as unacceptable and questioned the decisions that are made through the usurpation of powers and appropriation of resources.
For these acts of corruption, the Public Ministry has opened 27 cases against the self-styled “interim government”, which have led to prison more than a hundred responsible, with 63 convicted and is after the capture of other fugitives.
Institutional support
In another order of ideas, Deputy Martínez, vice president of the Special Commission for Dialogue, Peace and National Reconciliation, highlighted the work that Deputy Jorge Rodríguez is carrying out as president of the Venezuelan Parliament and stated that his presence enhances the daily tasks of Power Legislative.
Referring to the legislative period that has just begun, Luis Eduardo Martínez said that the opposition and democratic caucus will take care of supporting laws that focus on economic and social issues, such as the Law on Special Economic Zones, which he described as positive.
“In 2023 the priority is economic and social. There are also a series of laws that we will present as a parliamentary initiative on issues of wages, salaries, retirement and pensions. An emergency wage law is a priority issue that must be addressed,” said the deputy from the opposition bench.
