The journalists who spread the letter pointed out that there is legitimate and growing concern about the lack of information regarding the location of their colleagues.
“We demand that the corresponding authorities begin the work aimed at establishing the location of Jesús Pintor, Fernando and Alan, in attention to the responsibilities imposed on them by the General Constitution of the Republic and the Political Constitution of the State,” they indicated.
“Guerrero is one of the entities considered to be at the highest risk for practicing journalism; According to records from the 17th delegation of the National Union of Press Writers (SNRP), in the last 20 years at least 21 journalists have been murdered, in addition there is forced displacement of colleagues in the North, Costa Grande, Tierra Caliente and on the Mountain”, they added.
The letter was addressed to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and to the authorities in charge of the country’s security.
