The Dominican BioNetwork, in view of the latest statements offered by the Dominican Medical Association (CMD), calling for paralyzing services to different Health Risk Administrators (ARS), called for the health of Social Security affiliates not to continue to be affected.
In a press release, the entity stated that “we trust that the actors that make up the National Social Security Council, (CNSS), continue to seek a solution to the demands of doctors and health providers to the ARS.”
He stated that “the medical union has the full right to demand better rates, but never to the detriment of the health of the population.”
“Suspending health services to ARS affiliates becomes an important barrier to accessing health services that patients so badly need, especially those with high-cost diseases. This translates into increased out-of-pocket spending, postponement of treatment, and even preventable deaths due to the lack of timely treatment,” the press document states.
