Along the same lines, the former head of the PCM spoke Mirtha Vasquez, who made a call for the president to step aside to stop the deaths in Puno: “Unable to lead a political exit and control the so-called ‘law enforcement’, allowing them to kill more Peruvians. Ms. Dina Boluarte cannot continue at the head of the Government #DinaRenunciaYa. Stop the killing in Puno”.
Similarly, the parliamentarian Sigrid Bazan, of Cambio Democráticos-JPP, pointed out that a government that sheds so much blood does not deserve to stay another minute: “Madam Dina Boluarte, I quit! There are already more than 30 Peruvians murdered, victims of excessive violence and the brutal repression that his government has been exercising. If you have any respect for the memory of the deceased and their relatives, resign along with your entire cabinet.”

For its part, the bench of Peru Libre issued a pronouncement in which he requested a “stop to the land and air massacre in Juliaca-Puno.” They called for Dina Boluarte leave office, abandon the Government Palace and call new general elections, and direct the country towards a constituent assembly.
“The town of Juliaca is being massacred by the repressive forces of the State, which has led to the death of 12 people, bringing a total of 40 murders so far, in addition to hundreds of wounded and detained. (…) The people’s request is clear, demanding the resignation of the de facto president Dina Boluarte, new elections and the constituent assembly”, read in the statement.
