In the column, Bordaberry questioned that the Undersecretary of Foreign Relations, Carolina Ache, was the only political person responsible for the fact that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Interior granted a passport to the drug trafficker Sebastián Marset in November 2021, despite the fact that both portfolios They had exchanged information about Marset’s criminal record since this man had requested the documentation while he was imprisoned in the United Arab Emirates for carrying an apocryphal Paraguayan passport.
Bordaberry stated that there were at least three “officials (who) knew that Marset was a drug trafficker a month and a half before the Ministry of the Interior told the undersecretary about it.” She also assured that the director of Consular Affairs reported the matter by email to the Secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and that this minister was also informed.
