The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, arrived this Saturday in Venezuela, in order to strengthen relations between the two nations.
The information was released by the Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, Armando Benedetti on his Twitter account.
“President Gustavo Petro has just landed in Caracas,” he wrote on the social network, where the reception of the Colombian president is observed.
Earlier, Benedetti held a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Relations, Yván Gil, where he extended his greetings after the appointment this Friday.
“I met with the newly appointed Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Yván Gil Pinto, at the Casa Amarilla, to whom we wish the greatest success in this new role,” he wrote.
Subsequently, the Venezuelan diplomat pointed out that, at the meeting, they agreed to continue strengthening relations between the two nations.
“We had a pleasant meeting with the Colombian Ambassador @AABenedettiprior to the meeting held by the Presidents @GustavoPetro Y @NicolasMaduro to continue restoring bilateral relations and deepening brotherhood between peoples,” Gil wrote on his Twitter account.
This would be the second meeting that both leaders hold on Venezuelan soil.
The first meeting between both leaders It was held in November of last year, where they agreed to strengthen relations and cooperation agreements in agro-industrial, agricultural, agricultural and petrochemical matters.
