The Attorney General Miriam German Brito advocated this Saturday because judges, prosecutors and each of the actors in the justice system Justice from the Dominican Republic make an internal reflection on their professional practice to identify the challenges that they must overcome for the benefit of the whole society.
“Each of us has the moral obligation, before our families and before the other citizens, to clarify in our minds the points that strengthen our professional practice, while identifying the challenges that we must overcome for the good of all,” says the Judge Germán Brito in the message of the Public ministry on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Judiciary.
The magistrate’s words were read by the Assistant Attorney General Andrés M. Chalas Velázquez in it altar of the homelandin the act in which the Public ministry laid a wreath to pay homage to the founding fathers of the Dominican nation.
In the morning, Chalas Velázquez and the National District Prosecutor, Rosalba Ramos, participated with Magistrate Germán Brito in the solemn hearing held by the judiciary in the Augusta Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justicein the Palace of Justice of the Center of the Heroes of Constanza, Maimón and Estero Hondo.
Members of the criminal prosecution body also participated in the mass offered by the Supreme Court of Justice and presided over by the missionary bishop Monsignor Raúl Berzosa in the First Cathedral of America, in the Colonial Zone, on the occasion of the Day of the Judiciary.
In her words, Judge Germán Brito thanked the population for the vote of confidence in the management of the Public ministry which heads
“Dominican society has put a vote of confidence in the system of Justiceby recognizing in our management a point of advance in the fight against criminal structures that enrich themselves at the expense of the entire population and through complex networks of administrative corruption”, he said.
“Fortunately, these associations of criminals are being confronted with determination from the different bodies of the current Public ministry”, he added.
He stressed that the prosecution actions against drug trafficking, money laundering and other serious crimes certify the firm will of the Public ministry to fully comply with its role of prosecuting criminal offences.
“Today, Judicial Power Day, we want to express our genuine belief that this vote of confidence renewed by the population in prosecutors will extend to those judges who assume their moral duty before their family environment and who put their intellect and work at the service of the best interests of society,” he said.

In his message, Germán Brito said that the challenge of the Justice is to keep all channels open for all people, regardless of their economic situation, because the legal mechanisms and procedures are inclined “to facilitate defense channels for defendants who have greater financial resources to sustain a long process” .
It added that, in this context, the judges and representatives of the Public ministry “They have the challenge of streamlining daily work so that cases are known promptly, always observing due process.”
