Fashion designers from nine provinces of the Norte Grande are exhibiting their native works starting this Friday after having shown their designs on Thursday night at the traditional “Mar del Plata Fashion Show” parade that was held at the Costa Galana hotel in that city.
This project, encouraged by the governors in the last assembly held in Corrientes, proposed that the provinces of Catamarca, Corrientes, Chaco, Misiones, La Rioja, Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán and Santiago del Estero participate in this impressive parade on the Atlantic coast.
The objective was to expose their autochthonous designs, their productions and regional cultures.
As of this Friday and until Sunday, the designers of the Norte Grande exhibit their work in a showroom that will work until next Sunday the 8th at the Costa Galana.

In the parade were the governor of Jujuy, Gerardo Morales and the president of the Executive Board and secretary of International Relations of Santiago del Estero, Bernardo Abruzesse.
The missionary designer María Eugenia Chacón told Télam that he is from the missionary town of Puerto Esperanza and that his collection “is inspired by the green corridor of my province.”
“What are the native trees and each of the sets that I exhibit today represents each tree such as the palo borracho, the palo rosa and the lapacho, all species from my homeland,” he added.
“Within the route of the missionary design I arrive at this parade that is impressive every season” Chacón emphasized.
“I always work with representative colors of our region and being in a place like this is a great showcase for fashion producers from the interior” he highlighted.
For his part, he Salta designer Marcelo Senra He affirmed that “each province has its identity and source of wealth in raw material. For 30 years I have carried the world the Salta imprint with the fabrics of the chaguar and its fabrics.”
“When I graduated as an architect, I discovered that fashion design was what I really liked and I learned the trade. My idea was and always is to take materials out of context and add quality, potential and style to them,” he pointed out.
Senra said: “Every day I am surprised by how magical this country is, from that woman who weaves the chaguar under a mango with more than 40 degrees of heat in the north, fabulous designs can be created with textiles of earth colors “.
The designer assured that he recognizes himself “as a faithful representative of this federal country that we all want to achieve. In every corner of this Argentina we have a lot of potential, that is why in 2023 I am going to start designing unisex clothing for the country and the world “.
Verónica López, a designer from Tucumán who adds a lot of color to her clothes and accessories, she said: “my latest collection is called ‘Tarot’ I don’t base myself on trends but I do all my work with the color of my beloved north”.
“I have been doing this for 12 years and I am very proud to represent my province in this parade in Mar del Plata because it makes us very visible and we show the work we do with so much passion from a corner of the country,” she concluded.
Later, Laura Custidiano designer from the province of Corrientes said that “what we do is pure regional identity, everything that is a sustainable concept of the wood of the coastal region and all our dyes made with yerba mate, onion peel, tea, oxide, eucalyptus leaves and the chamamé that is the art of what our culture from Corrientes is”.
“Being in this space is a great exhibition that allows us to show our roots and our idiosyncrasies, which is why I always say that our clothes have ‘payé’ as is characteristic of our province.”
Upcoming Design Events on the Atlantic Coast
Designers from the Norte Grande will participate in two more fashion shows on January 12 at Pinamar Moda Look and on January 25 at the Cariló Golf fashion show, within the framework of a campaign to promote tourism and culture in the North of Argentina on the Atlantic Coast. which will be from January 11 to February 21.
