Schools, hospitals and airports: Ovidio's capture paralyzes Sinaloa

Through a statement, the Culiacán International Airport reported that “for the safety of all passengers, the airport will be closed from 08:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., any questions about your flight contact your airline, avoid going to the airport”.

Hours later, the Mazatlán International Airport also announced its closure, from 9:20 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. this Thursday and asked users to be careful in the face of false information.

Soccer also stopped: the match that would be played between the Mazatlán FC and León teams this Friday, January 6, was suspended and the BBVA MX League indicated that it will be rescheduled for a new date.

This is the second time that the inhabitants of Sinaloa have been touched by violence of this magnitude, since in October 2019 after the first capture of Ovidio Guzmán -who was later released- the “Culiacanazo” took place, with a series of roadblocks, shootouts and clashes between members of organized crime and the Armed Forces that left nine people dead.
