MADRID, Spain.- Cuban baseball player Yoen Socarrás Suárez arrived in Florida, United States in recent days, according to what sports journalist Yordano Carmona reported on Tuesday.
“And Cuban baseball players continue to arrive in the United States. Several sources have just confirmed to me that pitcher Yoen Socarrás is already in South Florida,” Carmona said through Twitter.

Although until now the route in which the athlete arrived in the northern country has not been revealed, presumably he did so through the Central American migratory route. A month ago, reporter Francys Romero reported that the 35-year-old from Sancti Spiritus had escaped Cuba “and would try to reach the United States.”
At the time of leaving Socarrás Island, he was playing for the Ganaderos in the First Elite Baseball League of Cuba.
The right-handed pitcher played in the Island 15 National Series. Last winter he became the first National Series player to participate in the Dominican Winter League. In addition, in 2021 he played in the Mexican Baseball League, representing the Pericos de Puebla and Olmecas de Tabasco teams. Just as he was part of Team Cuba in the 2022 Harleem Interport Tournament, held in the Netherlands.
On November 26, the sports media Cuban ball reported that Yoen Socarrás had asked to be removed from the national sports system.
This same week it transpired that Jonathan ValleyCuban baseball prospect, left the country and is already in the Dominican Republic, where he will seek to sign with a Major League Baseball (MLB) organization.
The migration crisis that the Island is going through in the year just ended included dozens of baseball players.
