The Public Ministry reported that, through the Circuit Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Crimes of Illicit Association (Gangs) of Colón, the provisional arrest of 10 people was achieved for the crime against collective security in the form of gang activity contemplated in article 330 of the Penal Code.
These people were apprehended in the “Operation Kaizen”, carried out on January 27, 2022, by the Illicit Association (Gang) Prosecutor’s Offices in conjunction with the Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ) of the National Police, in the sectors of Arcoiris, Alto of Los Lagos and Barrio Sur in the province of Colón.
The defendants are investigated for allegedly belonging to the gang called “West Side 4 Life” who were dedicated to committing serious crimes, such as; homicides, drug-related crimes, illegal possession of firearms, kidnapping.
