Venezuelan government ready to normalize relations with the US, says Nicolás Maduro

OnCubaNews

The Venezuelan government is ready to move forward in the process of normalizing diplomatic relations with the United States, President Nicolás Maduro said.

“We are prepared for dialogues at the highest level and relations of respect, and hopefully a halo of light will reach the United States, that it will turn the page and put that extremist policy aside,” he declared in an interview with journalist Ignacio Ramonet.

He said that Washington is trapped in a meaningless policy on Venezuela, by supporting non-existent institutions, referring to the opposition assembly and Juan Guaidó. His “interim” was eliminated by the opposition last Friday and ends next Thursday.

He affirmed that Washington continues without releasing the 3.150 million dollars agreed with the Unitary Platform of the opposition in the dialogue tables that were held in Mexico.

On November 26, 2022, the Maduro administration and a sector of the Venezuelan opposition decided to resume talks and sign the second partial social agreement for the protection of Venezuelan citizens, a project to recover Venezuela’s resources abroad to cover public services and essential sectors.

Maduro highlighted the improvement experienced in relations between his country and the European Union, as well as the normalization of relations with Colombia.
