The circulation of trucks on routes and highways is restricted during New Year's Eve

The Directorate of Roads of the Province of Buenos Aires, dependent on the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services, reported that, as of this Friday, they will not be able to circulate trucks cargo along routes and highways in the province.

The measure applies to vehicles cargo of more than seven tons, and will be in force on Friday the 30th, Saturday the 31st and Sunday the 1st of January. During these days, the trucks they will not be able to transit through the Buenos Aires-La Plata Highway.

Also, the restriction for trucks It also applies to Highway 2, Provincial Routes 11, 36, 56, 63, 74, with “the objective of facilitating vehicular movement and preventing traffic accidents on tourist routes”as detailed by the Directorate of Roads.

The entity reported that, in the direction of the Atlantic Coast, the restriction will apply this Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., on Saturday 31, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; schedule that will also apply on Sunday, January 1.

There will be security checks on the roads.

However, it must be taken into account that on Sunday, January 1, in the direction of the City of Buenos Aires, the restriction will be from 2:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. This will make it possible to keep the roads clear so that citizens can carry out the exodus.

The agency detailed: “on highway 2, the restriction affects from km 40.5 of the Buenos Aires – Mar del Plata branch of the Buenos Aires – La Plata Highway to km 400 (Camet)”; and on provincial route 11, “from the intersection with RP Nº 36 (Pipinas) to Km 537 (Chapadmalal)”.

By New Year’s Eve there will be a greater influx of vehicles.

For its part, on provincial route 36, the restriction will be applied from the RP No. 10 roundabout (Prolongation Av. 66 – La Plata) to the intersection with RP No. 11 (Pipinas) and along route 56, from its intersection with the RP Nº 11 (General Conesa) until its intersection with RP Nº 74 (General Madariaga).

What are the exceptions to the measure

From Roads, they clarified that there will be some exceptions to the measure; in this way, the vehicles transport of less than seven tons of raw milk, its by-products and associated packaging may transit.

All drivers are advised to drive carefully.

The transport of live animals, fish and shellfish, fruit and vegetable products can also be done; emergency vehicles; the exclusive transport of press and mobile television units; cranes, assistance to damaged or accident vehicles; transportation of fuel, medicines or solid urban or pathogenic waste.
