Ana Luisa Garduño, activist against femicide, is murdered in Morelos

The place of the attack was the Apolo XI, Ana Luisa Garduño’s business. The first report was that the activist had injuries. However, when elements of the State Public Safety Commission and paramedics from the Emergency Medical Rescue Squad (ERUM) arrived, they found her lifeless.

Personnel from the Morelos Police and the National Guard secured the area and carried out an operational deployment to search for and locate the alleged perpetrator(s).

“Inside the Apolo XI restaurant bar, located on Álvaro Obregón street on the corner of Venustiano Carranza, in the Centro neighborhood of the municipality of Temixco, the lifeless body of who was identified as Ana Luisa ‘N’ was located in the checkout area, 51 years old, who had penetrating injuries as a result of gunshots,” the Morelos government said in a statement.

Likewise, it indicated that the investigation protocols with a gender perspective were activated, for which the Public Ministry of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation and Prosecution of the Crime of Femicide intervened.

In another statement, the state government condemned the murder of Ana Luisa Garduño, founder of the Colectivo Ana Karen Vive AC, in honor of her daughter, who was murdered in 2012.

Garduño Juárez was also a member of the Victims Front of the State of Morelos, where he demanded justice not only for the femicide of his daughter, but for all the victims of violence in the country.
