The Vice Minister of Internal Commerce, Ramón Pérez Fermín, reported this Friday that during this 2022 the government of President Luis Abinader launched an extraordinary subsidy plan that amounted to more than RD$34.600 million and that allowed to alleviate our economy, curbing inflation and above all protecting the people from the historic increases in fuel prices.

Pérez Fermín also explained that for the first week of 2023 the government will not transfer the increases imposed by the market, and will continue to protect consumers from increases in products such as regular and optimal diesel, for more than fifty pesos.

“In global numbers, this assumed provision means managing RD$376.4 million pesos only for these two products,” he added.

The international price of WTI averaged US$78.77 this week, it increased again by 3.6% in relation to the average of the previous week.

Faced with this volatility scenario, the government once again keeps all marketable fuel prices unchanged, thus avoiding the rises that the recovery in post-pandemic demand continues to cause, exacerbated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Consequently, the fuel prices for this week from December 31, 2022 to January 6, 2023, will be as follows.
