Through a message on Twitter, Javier Tarazona’s brother called for the release of his brother and all the political prisoners in the country
Jose Rafael Tarazonabrother of Javier Tarazona, director of the NGO netfounderrequested this Tuesday, December 27, the release of his relative, who has already been detained for 543 days, but in addition to all the political prisoners in Venezuela.
In a video posted on his social networks, he addressed President Nicolás Maduro to allow political prisoners to be reunited with their families.
“Allow more than 300 political prisoners to be reunited with their families. Today is a time for peace, union and true reconciliation, ”he said in his message in which he referred to the Christmas season.

Javier Tarazona, a lawyer, university professor and director of FundaRedes, was arrested on July 2, 2021 when he went to the headquarters of the Prosecutor’s Office in Coro, the capital of Falcón state, to denounce that he was being harassed and persecuted by officials of the Bolivarian Service. of National Intelligence (Sebin). He was transferred to Caracas and held in El Helicoide, one of the headquarters of that security organization.
Tarazona is accused of the alleged crimes of incitement to hatred, terrorism and “treason against the homeland”, due to the NGO’s complaints about the presence of irregular groups in various states on the Venezuelan border, as well as the clashes between the National Armed Forces and alleged elements of the FARC and ELN dissidents in Apure state.
