Alberto Otárola after purging 312 sub-prefects: "we need suitable officials"

They won’t back down. The head of the ministerial cabinet, was pronounced after the separation of 312 district sub-prefects from their positions, by the head of the General Directorate of Interior Government, Benigna Aguilar Vera.

Through his social networks, Otárola said that they are “compliance with the commitments” that were promised in the management. These sub-prefects are accused of making “misuse of their positions” in recent months.

“Sign with the meritocracy. Fulfilling our commitments and as we announced, the appointments of 312 district sub-prefects in 23 regions of the country were terminated through directorial resolution No. 403-2022-IN-VOI-DGIN, ”he wrote.

As Peru21 warned, the majority of sub-prefects were hired through their alliance with former president Pedro Castillo, unions linked to Sendero Luminoso, such as Movadef, Conare-Sute, Fenatep and the Magisterial Party.

“Peruvians need suitable authorities and officials, for this reason people recognized and distinguished by their community will be appointed to the positions of prefects and sub-prefects, regardless of their political color and clear democratic vocation,” he added.
