Constitution Commission will prioritize laws to reach April 2024 in the event of early elections

One month after the end of the current legislature, the Constitution Commission The Congress will prioritize the bills and opinions that imply changes in the rules of the game that would be applied in the next general elections of 2024, reported the head of the group, Hernando Guerra Garcia.

“You have to divide the agenda in two; In January, projects related to the electoral process will be prioritized because they have to be closed one year before the elections. If the elections are in April 2024, we have until April 2023 to finalize those reforms. He added that the order of importance will depend on the dates on which the projects were entered. “The legislators have the right to continue presenting projects, but in the commission we have 417 pending bills“, accurate.

ELECTION REFORMS

The return to bicamerality heads the list of electoral reforms that will be seen next month in the Constitution. To date there is a ruling in plenary that depends on a request for reconsideration so that it returns to the commission.

POLITICAL REFORMS
