Traffic accidents mar Christmas for 18 families

Eighteen people died in traffic accidents until early Sunday morning, Christmas Day, a number that could be increased in a new bulletin that will give the Emergency Operations Center (COE) today. Meanwhile, the National Police (PN) reported that there were no violent deaths in the Good night.

Two dead in San Cristóbal

Two men were killed the afternoon of this Sunday after allegedly being persecuted by four others in Madre Vieja Sur, San Cristóbal, in a dispute over the theft of a motorcycle.

One of the alleged dead criminals was identified as Samuel Ramírez de la Rosa (El Peje) and the second is in the process of identification, reported the National Police.

Regarding the case, the institution said that the alleged perpetrators are those named “Filis”, “Bebeto”, “Gongo” and “Luiyi”, supposedly residents of Jeringa, also in San Cristóbal.

Most of the alcoholic poisonings occurred in the National District, La Vega, Puerto Plata and Dajabón. To date, there have been no deaths from this cause. Another common poisoning has been food, with 49 people affected.
