E-commerce expands opportunities for Paraguayan entrepreneurs

Hoy Paraguay

Borders are no longer an impediment to buy or sell. E-commerce, which increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to grow thanks to an international market in constant development, which appreciates artisan products with stories and purposes. This is an expansion opportunity that Paraguayan entrepreneurs can take advantage of thanks to the facilities that logistics services offer today.

Shopping habits have changed on the planet. Consumers expect everything to be made to order, anytime, anywhere, and thanks to the ease offered by technology, they are increasingly engaging in cross-border shopping. According to DHL, with approx. 16 billion devices online, in the year 2021 there were 2.3 billion online shoppers globally.

Another trend in this increasingly globalized and industrialized world is the growth in the potential to purchase artisanal products, with limited or exclusive runs. This situation can bring advances in the expansion of hundreds of Paraguayan entrepreneurs who are looking for new growth opportunities. For this reason, The international logistics company DHL Express is committed to working with local entrepreneurs who intend to export to the world what is “made in Paraguay”.

These agreements include preferential rates, personalized advice, education and training at no cost.

The company also launched the DHL Bootcamp Challenge initiative this year, a contest that awarded 5000 dollars of international freight and other awards aimed at promoting the work of Paraguayan entrepreneurs who seek to make an international leap or are already exporting. In this first edition, the participation of 70 applicant enterprises from Paraguay was achieved.

According to figures managed by the company, what is exported the most are Paraguayan handicrafts.
