“If you are going to drink, organize your transfers with another means of transport, or have someone else be the designated driver,” The agency pointed out through its social networks, where they also called for respecting traffic regulations.
Additionally, the entity reported that this December 24 there is a restriction on the circulation of trucks of more than 3,500 kilos in more than 30 national routes and in the main accesses of the AMBA.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Transport announced that road safety controls will be strengthened at 200 points on the country’s main routes, with the support of the ANSV, the National Transport Regulation Commission (CNRT) and the Junta de Transport Security (JST).
The portfolio explained that the objective of the operation will be to prevent road accidents during the festivities, raise awareness about zero alcohol behind the wheel and the use of seat belts, so there will be controls throughout the weekend.
Recommendations for traveling
Since the organism issued a series of recommendations for citizens who are going to travel by road during the festivities, among them, always wear a seat belt, check the condition of the vehicle before the trip and do not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
