Large electrical works: they would create energy communities

Government has advanced the work for the construction of the roadmap of the Energy Transition.

Among the points that the document that has already been presented highlights is the creation of energy communities.

It is a concept in which communities have distributed generation based on renewable sources unconventional and could even inject it into the National Interconnected System.

However, the Colombian Association of Large Industrial and Commercial Energy Consumers (Asoenergía) pointed out that this alone is not enough to satisfy the demands of the System.

In accordance with Sandra Fonseca, director of the unionpointed out that “It is not enough to guarantee the necessary reliability, security and quality of energy to supply current and future demand, where decisions are required to advance in investments that require time to materialize”.

Until now, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Irene Vélezhas indicated that a new auction will not be promoted, although it has indicated working on the design of a new model that guarantees security and autonomy.
