The Public Ministry presented the formal accusation against Andrea Forfori, former director of the Botanical Garden, before the 1st Anti-Corruption Investigating Court of the Capital, for the case called QR and requests that she be remanded in a preventive manner in the Palmasola prison.
“The formal accusation has been made. Now it is necessary, on the part of the Judicial Branch, to carry out the hearing of precautionary measures, in which the Public Ministry is requesting the exceptional measure of preventive detention in the Palmasola prison,” reported Róger Mariaca, Santa Cruz departmental prosecutor.
In this same case, Rocío Zurita, a former municipal official, and Enrique Mariaca, former director of Human Resources at the Botanical Garden, are being prosecuted. zurita was released by justice with substitute measures, the payment of a bond and arraigo. While Mariaca was sent to the Palmasola prison for 120 days.
While Andrea Forfori still does not appear after December 9, when he voluntarily presented himself to the Prosecutor’s Office to start his defense for the case. She has now been charged with the alleged crimes of concussion, embezzlement and illicit enrichment.
The councilor of the Autonomous Community (CA), Juan Carlos Medrano, indicated that justice set for December 30 the hearing of the former director of the Botanical Garden, whom he points out as the main accused in this process.
“The judge has already summoned Mrs. Forfori for a hearing on December 30 (…) All (the defendants and complainants) point to her, but (Forfori) does not appear and the judiciary unfortunately it gives her time for her to show up whenever she feels like it”, he told the media.
