The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, met this Friday in Brazil with the Vice President-elect and future head of the Industry and Commerce portfolio, Geraldo Alckim, and with whom he will be his peer in that country, Fernando Haddad, with the aim of working together They reported from the Palacio de Hacienda.

Accompanied by the Undersecretary for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, Gustavo Pandiani, and the head of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec), Marco Lavagna, Massa advanced with Alckmin and HaddaD in a “regional integration agenda”

Among the topics discussed were the bilateral trade agenda; gas as transition energy and the financing of foreign trade, as “common interests of Brazil and Argentina to work on”, it was indicated.

Likewise, in relation to the future of Argentina-Brazil integration, work was done on a “currency exchange”, the project of a “common currency”, within the framework of a “process of economic, financial, infrastructure and development integration Mercosur and the region”.

In a message on his Twitter social network account, Massa thanked “the Vice President and Minister of Industry and Commerce of Brazil as of January 1, @GeraldoAlckmin, for the opportunity to start working together on the bilateral trade agenda.”

“With the main axes placed on gas as transition energy and the financing of foreign trade, which are common interests of Brazil and Argentina that we must work together,” he said.

The head of the Palacio de Hacienda also thanked Haddad, the future Minister of the Economy of Brazil, “for opening the doors of his home to start working together on the future integration of Argentina and his country.”

“From the work of exchanging currencies to the dream of a common currency, which are projects that must be part of the process of economic, financial, infrastructure and development integration of Mercosur and the region”he concluded.
