It’s been four months without real estate payments, so are the more than 600 inmates of the San Roque prison in Sucre. The person in charge of the kitchen had to manage a loan to continue feeding the prison population, which gave a deadline until this Friday for the Government to disburse the resources, otherwise, they will take actual measures as of Monday. The inmates will spend a Christmas without farms.

The political discrepancies between the Governor of the opposition Damián Condori and the Legislative Assembly of the pro-government majority, they delay the process of the budgetary modification for the estates. Just this Wednesday, the Assembly approved the budget modifications and the Governor’s Office must make the payment viable.

The delegate of pavilion 4 of the San Roque prison, Jhonny Germán Quispe, expressed the annoyance of the inmates who for almost four months They do not agree to collect their landholdings, which is the basis of their diet.

“We are analyzing, if they do not give us no later than this Friday, we are going to take some pressure measures starting Monday, but we have to coordinate with the other delegates”, reported Quispe.

He pointed out that they made representations to the Governor and the departmental assembly members, but without any response.

The director of the Prison Regime in Chuquisaca, Sergio Flores, revealed that a kitchen manager is lending her resources to sustain the inmates’ foodwith the commitment to return when the departmental government disburses the money.

The departmental assemblyman, Luis Ayllón, reported that the budget that includes the payment of property to the San Roque prison was approved, for an amount of Bs 510,824,000.

The Government will disburse the resources next week, but it will only be for two months: September and October, November and December will remain pending, informed the president of the Permanent Assembly of Human Rights of Chuquisaca, Freddy Jiménez, who met this Friday with Governor Damián Condori to address this issue.
