Between queues, unemployment and complaints: gasoline shortages persist in the regions

According to information from different regional media, the queues and claims due to fuel shortages persist in different regions of the country. Coro transporters threaten a possible stoppage due to non-compliance by PDVSA. On the other hand, those from Tucupita have already taken action and say that they will not provide transportation service until they are heard

The difficulties to find gasoline in Maracaibo increase more and more due to the intermittent supply to the service stations and it is the motorized ones who bear the brunt of not being able to fill the tanks, since they are rejected at many of the pumps, which every day they give fewer quotas for motorcycles.

Between 9,000 and 14,000 liters of fuel are supplied to many of the pumps, enough to supply approximately 220 to 350 vehicles with 40 liters of hydrocarbon each, but motorcycles are not part of these accounts in many cases.

“The tank of my motorcycle is 7 liters, and they don’t even put gasoline on me. In some pumps they say that they give 20 or 30 numbers for the motorists, in others they give half an hour or an hour for us, but it is never enough”, criticized Jairo Cuevas, who assured that since the beginning of the month he had to resort to the “bachaqueros” to fill up on gasoline.

“I have to pay a dollar per liter every time I have to fill up with the ‘pimpineros’ and that gasoline is linked to God knows what, I risk damaging my engine,” added the affected person.

limited places

In an investigation carried out by Diario La Verdad, it was found that, despite the fact that many service stations in Maracaibo have queues of vehicles waiting to fill up, there is almost no presence of motorcycles or a specific queue for this type of automotive transport.

“We give 30 places for motorized vehicles every time we go to refill fuel, and they are the first to pass, and after that we cannot serve more and we start with the cars,” explained a soldier from the El Carmen station, on Avenida The delights.

Likewise, in a city where the use of motorcycles has multiplied since the arrival of the pandemic to be used as delivery, personal transport and mototaxi, the latter claim that they are not taken into account in the bombs and that they must resort to the black market to fill your tanks.

“We have to buy from them (the ‘bachaqueros’) to be able to work because every time I go to a pump they tell me that motorcycles are not, or that they have already filled up the motorized ones,” lamented a motorcycle taxi from the Los Olivos line, also asserting that they must increase the passage to the users to pay for the extra that they invest with the informal sellers.

service station argument

One of the managers of the Las Delicias station, on Las Delicias avenue, explained that this problem with motorized vehicles is that, despite needing less gasoline than a vehicle, many take advantage of it to stock up on fuel to later sell it and they go to another station to repeat the cycle.

The high-ranking official of one of the state police agencies, who preferred to remain anonymous, confessed that the police entities “are monitoring this situation, and many of the motorists that are supplied at the Las Delicias pump are going to “bachaquear “The fuel and then they go to another pump to ask for more.”

However, the officer clarifies that “obviously, I know that not all of them are dedicated to that”, assuring that at said station they dispatch a full hour for motorists, using an exclusive dispenser for them.

“When the truck finishes supplying, we begin to serve the motorists for an hour with an exclusive dispenser for them, after the hour we cannot serve more because it affects the supply for the rest of the cars that are already marked,” he said. the official.

In addition, he commented that one of the most frequent problems when it comes to caring for motorized vehicles is that “people in line, who are waiting for a certain time, complain when they see that a motorized vehicle that is arriving can fill up with gas before them.” , and then they accuse us of being corrupt and selling quotas”.

Likewise, the officer reported that on a daily basis they must deal with different people to whom they must give preference, as is the case with chronic patients, and other cases in which they must provide “support”, such as other police officers or state entities. , an action that inconveniences people who queue to fill up and see how others go first.

Possible Stop in Choir

The regional coordinator of the Bolivarian Movement and the Union of Carriers in Venezuela, Jorge Luis Pérez Azuaje, told public opinion the semi-paralysis of public transport, given that “PDVSA is not complying with the agreements established in the negotiations that we have held.”

“We are at the service station at kilometer seven of the city of Coro in the Miranda municipality of the Falcón state, in protest to claim what was agreed with PDVSA regarding the number of liters to supply public transport on the four axes that make up the agreement: I mean, west, east, the mountains and Coro, “he said.

He added that they had been assigned 39,000 liters per day, and they are only supplying them with 13,000 liters, which is insufficient. “Before, we understood the problem due to the accident at the Paraguaná refinery, but that has been resolved for a long time. In this sense, we ask that the agreed supply be regularized, otherwise we will go on strike,” he said.

Tucupita without transportation

According to reports from Radio Fe y Alegría, Tucupita (Delta Amacuro) woke up without transportation on Thursday, December 22. The carriers have decided to carry out a strike until they are heard.

According to the information, to avoid “official pressure”, the workers decided not to warn them in advance, they only let them know this Thursday.

They denounced that they have not been provided with fuel and explained that they have gone to the service station with an international reference price, where they allege that they spend more and that is why they have suggested an increase in the ticket price; but this was rejected by the authorities of the municipal and state governments.
