They prepare the new stage of the Gas.Ar Plan that will allow savings for the State of US$19,500 million

The Minister of Economy of the Nation, Sergio Massa, together with the Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royón, announced the award for a new phase of the Plan Gas.Ar Rounds 4 and 5. This has the objective of advancing in the filling of the Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline.

The act of launching the award of the new stage of the Plan Gas.Ar occurred at the Kirchner Cultural Center and, according to Minister Massa, Rounds 4 and 5 of this project “They mean 10,000 jobs” and added: “We could encourage more if we look at the value chain, due to the size of the investments and the impact on the economic development of gas and oil.”

The Plan Gas.Ar 2023-2028 will allow, according to Massa and Royón, a saving of subsidies of 19,500 million dollars from the State during the period of five years and they asserted that “puts Argentina before the greatest opportunity to build fiscal order.”

For her part, the Secretary of Energy said that “this Gas Plan was designed with the objective of ensuring internal self-sufficiency at a competitive price for Argentines and for the industry; Argentine industry has to establish itself as a competitive advantage for the establishment of industries in Argentina”.

This year, the gas and oil sector will close with a deficit of 5 billion dollars, however, the project for Rounds 4 and 5 will allow “by 2024 a balanced trade balance” to be achieved. Subsequently, it is projected that “in the second half of 2023, we are going to have a historical record of gas production”.

Continuation of the Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline

The President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, led the signing of the pertinent contracts for stage I of the Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline. Explaining the measure, he said: “When we arrived at the Government, we began to see how the conditions were to carry out projects of this magnitude and we saw that in the four years prior to our arrival, gas production had fallen by eight percent per year, accumulating”.

This colossal project is strategic for our territory, since it increases the production of gas from Vaca Muerta, which in the words of Massa: “It will allow us to increase production by 11 million m3 in its first tranche and, for next year , save us between 1,300 and 2,200 million dollars in imports”.
