Debt with pharmaceuticals: IPS obtained the first G. 350,000 million in loans

The administrative manager of the IPS, José Luis Uriza, confirmed that the pension received offers for more than 400,000 million guaraníes and that in a first stage it had already awarded 350,000 million guaraníes.

“The IPS has already made disbursements to the pharmaceutical sector for some 200,000 million. This week we continue working, the following one too. By the end of 2022 we would be making payments for 330,000 million guaraníes,” Uriza reported in an interview with Universo – Nación Media radio.

He clarified that under current conditions, the next step would only be taken in February, since the entire process for obtaining lines of credit and paying suppliers is regulated by budgetary limits.

“The payments that we could make in December, January and February would reach 550,000 million, which is why in December we made this tender for approximately 400,000, to complete the difference in February,” he explained.

The manager clarified once again that with this law the retirement funds are not in danger, but rather, a financial discipline is put in place, since with short-term credit lines that the IPS has been managing for eight years in the market , the resources also come from the Maternity and Health Fund, but with a ceiling of 35%, which means that there are no resources left for the present obligations.

However, with the new legislation, this percentage will be gradually reduced until it remains at 5% as stipulated by the regulations.

The entrance Debt with pharmaceuticals: IPS obtained the first G. 350,000 million in loans was first published on newspaper TODAY.
