During his first day in Lima, the delegation of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) met with authorities and representatives of organizations of human rights to receive information about the political crisis and the protests carried out in recent days, which have left more than 20 people dead so far, as well as dozens injured in various regions of the country.
The group is chaired by the executive secretary of the IACHR, Tania Reneaum, and made up of María Claudia Pulido, Laura Morelo, Fernanda Dos Anjos, Giovanny Ferreira, Thiago Dezan, Miguel Mesquita and Corina Leguizamón.
The delegation began its work by meeting in the morning with President Dina Boluarte at the Government Palace, I find that it lasted for an hour. Likewise, the Vice Minister of Internal Order, Carlos León, participated in a meeting with the members of the IACHR in which they explained the actions of the police officers during the demonstrations. Also present at the meeting was the head of the Lima Police Region, General Victor Zanabria, who assured that the police acted within the framework of the Constitution and respect for human rights.

At the end of the day, the delegation went to the premises of the National Human Rights Coordinatorin Lince, to listen to representatives of human rights organizations, as well as other representatives of civil society, including the General Confederation of Workers of Peru (CGTP).
Tomorrow the delegation will be divided into two groups, one will travel to the provinces and the other will continue with meetings in Lime. Meetings have been arranged with the president of the Congress, José Williams; the president of the Power of attorney, Elvia Barrios; and the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides.
In addition, the IACHR delegation will meet with the heads of the National Elections Jury (JNE), Jorge Luis Salas Arenas; the boss of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), Piero Corvetto; and the head of the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), Carmen Velarde.

The IACHR delegation received information on violations of human rights in the context of the protests, from journalists and representatives of social organizations. A part of the IACHR delegation will travel today to Cusco to meet with the regional governor Jean Paul Benaventerelatives of deceased and injured.
Thursday they will go to ayacucho to meet with the regional governor Carlos Rua. Later, They will listen to the relatives of the deceased and injured in recent days.
