Aerolíneas Estelar will offer two weekly flights to Bogotá

With Turpial, Laser, Conviasa and Avior, Aerolíneas Estelar becomes the fifth company to announce flights to Colombia. Roundtrip ticket prices range from $337 to $506 depending on the class chosen

One more company joins the list of airlines that will begin operations to Colombia after the air connection between the two countries was reestablished, now that Aerolíneas Estelar announced two flights to Bogotá on a weekly basis.

The airline issued a statement addressed to passengers and commercial partners, informing that as of Wednesday, December 28, they will begin operations on the international route Caracas – Bogotá – Caracas, “initially offering two weekly frequencies.”

The flights will depart on Wednesdays and Fridays. In both cases, the departures to Bogotá are scheduled to take off at 4:00 pm and arrive in Bogotá at 5:00 pm. For the return, the departure time is expected at 6:30 pm and the arrival in Venezuela at 9:30.

By entering the Aerolíneas Estelar website, it is already possible to book flights to Bogotá, with itineraries available from December 28. The quote is made through the portal and the prices for a round trip ticket range from $337 to $506, depending on the class chosen.

In this way, Aerolíneas Estelar becomes the fifth company that offers flights to Colombia, following in the footsteps of Turpial —which began its operations on November 7—, Conviasa, Laser and Avior, which received the green light to fly to that destination. In the past week.

The reestablishment of commercial and diplomatic relations between Colombia and Venezuela brought with it the air reconnection for both countries. However, it was expected that the flights would resume with the reopening of the border on September 26, but it was not until the beginning of November that Turpial received authorization to fly, and a month later that the government of Nicolás Maduro finally gave the go-ahead to this route.

The business sector has emphasized the need to re-establish air connections and achieve regular flights to boost trade between the two countries. Estimates from unions such as the Venezuelan-Colombian Economic Integration Chamber (Cavecol) projected that the size of trade without the previously established restrictions could reach some $1.2 billion a year, more than triple what was registered in 2021.
