Argentina won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and people went out to celebrate in the streets. In this context, the largest concentration occurred, as expected, in the Obelisk of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The Government even made the Kirchner Cultural Center available so that citizens can celebrate the triumph of the Argentine team against France, however, today, the day after the brand new victory, it is known that the Pink House as the epicenter of celebrations.
The players of the Argentine team will arrive in our country, specifically at the Ezeiza airport, through two Aerolíneas Argentinas flights, presumably at midnight of the current day, on flight AR1915. The ruling party was enthusiastic in letting the players wave from the balcony of the Pink House. The main reasons for the celebration not to take place at said site are the security and logistics that a celebration would imply in the Goverment house.
The Argentine Football Association (AFA), communicated through its account on the social network Twitter, that, instead of celebrating at the Pink Housethe celebration will take place at the Obelisk together with the Argentine people. After the festivities, the players and technical team will remain in our territory throughout Tuesday the 20th and later return to the countries where they currently live and develop professionally.
The official account of the Argentine soccer team expressly reported that “The WORLD CHAMPION squad will leave Tuesday at noon for the obelisk to celebrate the world title with the fans”. For their part, the president and vice president, Alberto Fernández and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner respectively, were among the first Argentine politicians to express their joy with the victory of our team through the social network Twitter and assured that they would like to celebrate in the Goverment house.
Subsequently, leaders from around the world, mainly allies of the Fernández government in Latin America, such as the future president of Brazil, Lula da Silva; Evo Morales, former president of Bolivia; and Andrés Manuel López Obrador, head of the Government of Mexico, congratulated the Argentine team on the victory.
Holiday for Tuesday the 20th?
After the victory in the World Cup final, the Argentine population and media questioned whether the national government would decree a holiday to celebrate the victory. After learning that the players would arrive in the country at the latest on Monday at 7:15 p.m., this possibility was ruled out.
Now the question arises, will the Government decree a holiday on Tuesday to receive the winning team? The reality is that the possibility of tomorrow being a non-working day is still under discussion, at least for the public administration sector. This would allow the fans to celebrate at the Obelisk together with the players and technical team.

Employees of the public administration will have a holiday on Tuesday, December 20 for the Argentine triumph in the World Cup in Qatar 2022. Decree 382/2022. Even so, banks and the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) will be open until 12:00.
