Between January and August of this year, at least 17 episodes of forced internal displacement due to violence have been documented, mainly in the states of Chiapas, Chihuahua, Zacatecas, Michoacán, Oaxaca and Guerrero, which has affected at least 4 1,521 people, according to statistics from the Mexican Commission for the Defense and Promotion of Human Rights. It warns that July remains the month with the highest number of displaced persons, 3,411.
During this period, in Chiapas there have been five events of forced displacement: in San Pedro Chenalhó, in Ocosingo, in Frontera Comalapa, La Trinitaria and in Larráinzar, while in Chihuahua there have been five episodes: two of them in Guadalupe and Calvo, one in Bocoyna, in Uruachi and in Urique.
The commission states that the month in which forced displacements were not documented was April, while June has the highest number of episodes of this type, with four, all in Chihuahua.
In his monthly reports, he details that in January he registered three displacement events, in Oaxaca, Michoacán and Chihuahua; in February he was one in Zacatecas; in March there were three in Chiapas, Guerrero and Zacatecas; in May two, also in Chiapas and Zacatecan territory, and in July two in Chiapas.
Meanwhile, in August, the last month for which he has records, he learned of two events of internal displacement, the first in the municipality of Tuzantla, Michoacán, where a still undetermined number of families had to flee due to armed confrontations between factions of a criminal group present in the area. Due to the acts of violence, four interns from the Michoacana University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo who were carrying out their service in the municipality were also forced to
to leave their community, he indicates.
On the other hand, it states that in Jerez, Zacatecas, displaced people who had returned to their communities last March, after the installation of security bases, were forced to flee again at the end of August due to the looting of houses by members of a Armed group.
