The Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure (CCI) expects the projects in the portfolio to increase their progress by 2023. On Fourth Generation roads, the union foresees an increase in execution to 85% (currently it is 70%), in addition to the fact that 20 projects are in the operation and maintenance stage.

Regarding 5G projects, the ICC expects that road initiatives begin their pre-construction and construction stage, especially six projects that completed their award stage this year.
In river projects, lhe expectation focuses on the Canal Dique projectabove all due to its ambitious scope and because it will improve fluvial connectivity between Calamar and the Bay of Cartagena.
Regarding the railway sector, the union considers it essential to award the La Dorada – Chiriguaná corridor, since it is the “cornerstone for the development of the country’s intermodalism strategy”, allowing advances in terms of logistics, cargo transportation and passengers.

Finally, the union finds it essential advance on the largest road network in the country: the tertiary roads. That is why it applauds the Government’s intention to intervene 4,100 km this new year, a project that will cost 1.5 billion.
Regarding challenges, the union considers: adaptation to climate change, strengthening the intermodality planning process and promoting competitiveness through the development of projects.
