Although Gustavo Petro’s administration began in August, 2023 will be the first year that his government will be fully in power, and therefore It will be the year in which he will launch several of his reform projects.

Next semester it is expected that it will also reach Congress one of the most controversial reforms that the Government has announced, the pension, with which President Petro hopes to build a system of pillars.

The first level would be a solidarity pillar, to cover with a basic income of half the current legal minimum wage for people who do not have enough contributions to the system for a pension.

The second pillar would be a contributory one in which all people who earn up to four minimum wages would contribute to finance a universal public fund, while the third pillar would have additional contributions for all those citizens with incomes above four minimum wages. , which would go to the AFPs.

The Ministry of Labor has already drawn up a schedule for the construction of the reformand it is expected that the project will be filed before the Congress of the Republic in the fourth week of April 2023.
