The social organizations grouped in the Unidad Piquetera (UP) bloc announced that they plan to camp on Wednesday in front of the Ministry of Social Development with the slogan “for a Christmas without hunger”, which includes a claim against “the casualties” in the social plans and in rejection “of the adjustment to pay the International Monetary Fund (IMF)”.
“The government that continues with its plan of massive casualties, in a critical social situation of unemployment, especially among young people and women, and with miserable wages. The bonus of 6,750 pesos in two installments that they announced is a true mockery,” The organizations said in a statement.
The UP affirmed that “the adjustment is going so far” that the organizations that make up the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP), which are part of the ruling party, “have taken to the streets to denounce it.”
“We call on them to unify actions and coordinate a common fight plan to defeat the adjustment,” added the UP and assured that “it will camp this Wednesday against casualties, so that food is guaranteed for soup kitchens, for work tools for projects and for genuine work”.
