Haina, San Cristobal. – President Luis Abinader, through the Technical Executing Unit of Title of State Lands (UTECT) and the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) delivered this Friday in the municipality of Haina, San Cristóbal province, a total of 1,300 property titles out of a total of 2,817.
With the work carried out by the UTECT and the IAD, 1,300 families are positively impacted, which in turn translates into more than 11,268 people, according to a statement.
The houses and titled lots are distributed in the municipality of Haina, specifically in Villa Lisa, Villa Penca, Gringo, El Centro, Los Mangos and La Cañada de Abuelito.

Abinader stated that this titling act recognizes and gives rights to people, distributes wealth, provides security and, above all, draws a new horizon in the lives of thousands of people.
“We are taking important steps to reduce as much as possible and as soon as possible the housing shortage and the deficit of titling in the Dominican Republic,” said the president.
“But not only that, today we are recognizing fundamental issues that are inherent to citizens, such as dignity, their acquired rights and the recognition of property as a value that adds even more value to their life projects,” said the chief. of the State.
He pointed out that during this year, the Government has responded to the urgency of the challenges that have arisen “to change this country radically and forever.”
Meanwhile, the executive director of UTECT, Mérido Torres, reported that by the end of the year more than 120,000 titles will have been delivered throughout the national territory.
He said that the work carried out by UTECT, together with the IAD in Haina, covered a geographical area of 483,901.70 square meters.
From this moment on, homeowners and plots of land will enjoy the benefits derived from titled real estate, such as the legal security of their plot or home, the increase in the value of their properties, and will be able to access to formal credit through financial institutions in the market, among other benefits.

Carlos Peguero, Vice Minister of Tourism, reported that in this area of the Bajos de Haina, some 25,600 m2 will be built by the end of January of next year, a park and a large green area, which will have an auditorium, restaurant, multipurpose court and an area for computer management.
